Bad day and Good day...

First the bad, I attended App State and they lost for the first time in what feels like forever to Wofford. The beautiful thing is they play in the FCS (Football Championship Something Division) which mostly mean they will decided the winner on the field by playing in a playoff format, and not by whoever some writer in his basement thinks is the best team.

Bad 2 - My Terps blew a 24-3 lead to Wake Forest, the sad part is, they were actually going in for a score to go up 31-3, but the ball was picked in the endzone and returned 100 yards.. NUTS
Then they just blew it and lost in Overtime, oh it feels like decades ago when the Terps won 10 games or more 3 years in a row.

Now the Good - Golf. I rarely play these days, but was able to get out yesterday to play in the Year End Tournament sponsored by my work. I played really well, I made 3 birdies and actually made a par 5 in 2 and had about a 7 foot eagle putt - doh, just left it on the high side a bit. Then on the next hole, my shot of the day - Pulled a drive left down into some trash by a creek, had to drop and had about 135 with the ball above my feet, had to really choke down on a 7-iron, but hit it high and soft, and 1 hop and in the hole for another Birdie - woo - hoo. 79 for me with a bogey, bogey finish.

I also took home some loot and the awards ceremony, I nice cart bag and a few dozen balls.

I would like to Thank my lovely wife for the opportunity to get and play, it was a beatiful day and she had to handle our 2 kids all alone for most of the day. I love you baby.

Great going on the golf play son. And thanks for the 'happy birthday' blog entry...your mom and I had a great time out in LV with our special frinds, affectionately called "Aunt Ev and Uncle John'. Your father-in-law and I played at Governor's Club in Chapel Hill yesterday, and finished fourth, just out of the money. If we had you along, we might have won! Your son's Ohio Poppy and Charlotte Poppy (me) are already starting to make retirement plans, when we can take our grandson and granddaughter out to play golf. We are looking forward to it!
